Our Principals

David Browne – Director and Principal (BAppSc)

David has over 25 years of experience in the mining, oil and gas, energy, infrastructure and agricultural industries. This experience includes management and preparation of environmental and social impact assessments, development of closure plans, development of strategies for the management of potential acid-forming waste rock and tailings, community consultation and operations management. David’s experience includes resource and energy development projects in most Australian states and territories, and elsewhere in Asia-Pacific (New Zealand, China, Indonesia) and Africa (Cote d'Ivoire, Uganda, Ghana). David has held Environment Manager positions with Pasminco, Normandy Mining, Newmont Mining and Origin Energy, and was General Manager ESIA (South Australia/Northern Territory) and then CEO of the environment and social performance service line in a large consulting firm.

Andrew Pym – Director and Principal (BAppSc)

Andrew has over 29 years of experience in environmental, social and health impact assessment (ESHIA), permitting and approvals, environmental management, monitoring, and compliance and due diligence assessments in multiple jurisdictions and to meet World Bank and IFC Performance Standards. Andrew began his career with Santos Limited before moving to consulting where he has undertaken assignments for energy, oil and gas, mining and infrastructure projects throughout Australia (all states and territories), elsewhere in Asia-Pacific (China, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, New Caledonia, New Zealand), Africa (Sierra Leone, Malawi), the Middle East (Iraq) and Argentina. Andrew has seconded to ESHIA project development teams with BHP Billiton Petroleum, APA Group, Brittish Gas and Shell and has held positions of: General Manager ESIA (Western Australia); Manager, Iraq Oil & Gas Projects (UAE); and Global Manager - Business Development, Environments.

Michael Wright – Director and Principal (BEng(Civil))

Michael has over 20 years of consulting and industry experience in environmental approvals, auditing, due diligence assessments and project management for the mining and oil and gas industries in Australia, Asia-Pacific (Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Indonesia, Laos, New Caledonia, Solomon Islands) and Africa (Tanzania, Egypt, Côte d'Ivoire). Michael has worked on projects in Papua New Guinea since 1995 and was Papua New Guinea Country Manager for a large consulting firm prior to taking on a role as the Solwara 1 Project Environmental Manager with Nautilus Minerals.

Luci David – Principal (BSc(Hons))

Luci has 18 years of consulting experience in environmental and social impact assessment and management. This has included scoping studies, baseline and characterisation investigations, impact assessments, management plans, sustainability reporting, liability assessments and compliance reviews/audits for mining and gas developments in Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Zambia, Cyprus, Philippines, Pakistan, Lao PDR, Zambia, New Zealand and throughout Australia. Several of these projects have involved working with either the World Bank/IFC or their performance standards and guidelines. Luci's specialty areas include project direction and management, ESIA, stakeholder consultation and technical peer review. Luci has gained practical experience of both site operations and corporate activities through five secondments.

Clark Monahan – Principal (BSc(Chem), MSc (Aq.Sc))

Clark Monahan has over 20 years experience in environmental and social impact assessments, having worked on over 40 projects in all Australian states and nine other countries (Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Lao PDR, New Caledonia, Central America, Indonesia, Ghana, Guinea and Greenland), providing expert services in environmental baseline studies, impact assessment, environmental management and permitting. Clark is a marine chemist with experience in water and sediment quality assessments, sampling and chemical analysis of water, sediment and biota, and ecotoxicology. Clark’s particular expertise is in the distribution and behaviour of contaminants in aquatic environments and their impacts on aquatic ecosystems and risks to human health.

Greg Terrens – Principal (BAppSc (Chem), MEnvSc)

Greg has over 30 years experience as an environmental specialist and senior environmental advisor working on all environmental aspects of oil and gas exploration and production projects and operations. This includes project and construction approvals, environmental approvals, field monitoring programs, and environmental and social impact assessments. Greg has filled roles ranging from Senior Environmental Advisor with ExxonMobil (26 years), lead NOPSEMA approvals Project Manager and Senior Associate with Coffey, and Senior Principal Scientist and Consultant with RPS Asia Pacific. He has worked in Australia, United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Papua New Guinea, United Kingdom and west Africa. Greg has played an active role in industry technical groups including the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). He has presented the results of environmental and social impact assessment scientific studies of produced water and drill cuttings marine discharges at international conferences and advised the oil and gas industry on greenhouse gas emissions programs. Greg has undertaken internal reviews of the environmental impact assessment process for international oil companies in Australia including review of global decommissioning best practice.
